About the Role:
The Associate Director, S/4 HANA Data Transformation - EMEA Finance Cleanse is a key contributor to AstraZeneca’s Data & Analytics team, supporting the global ERP transformation program. This role is accountable for driving finance data quality, cleansing, and readiness of legacy ERP data to enable successful S/4HANA deployments.
This position focuses on:
Data Readiness and Migration: Preparing finance data for migration by leading data profiling, cleansing, mapping, and localization activities across multiple deployments.
Regional Accountability: Being accountable for finance data cleansing and migration readiness activities across EMEA and Asia, covering both master and transactional finance data.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Leading cross-functional efforts to establish and track data readiness through defined stage gates, ensuring transparent progress reporting and a controlled handover of migration-ready data.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring consistent, governed, and high-quality finance data is delivered to support accurate, compliant, and timely ERP migrations across global operations.
Accountabilities:
Cleanse execution: Drive and deliver all data cleanse activities across the assigned Finance object workstream to meet migration quality requirements for SAP S/4HANA.
Define scope and approach: Identify and document the cleanse scope, methodology, and delivery plan; establish project documentation and governance.
Data quality management: Perform comprehensive data quality analysis; define requirements, controls, and monitoring; track and report progress to stakeholders.
Prioritization and reporting: Lead prioritization of data delivery across the workstream and provide clear status reporting, risks, and mitigation plans.
Stakeholder management: Coordinate with local leads, project resources, data services, technology teams, and global data offices; manage key relationships between cleanse teams and S/4HANA project/business teams.
Complex Data Resolution: Translate complex data issues into clear solutions, influencing stakeholders with confidence.
Essential Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent number of years of experience in a Computer Science or Data Management related field.
Proven experience leading complex SAP data cleansing initiatives, including business requirements, data interrogation and profiling and cleanse execution.
Strong knowledge of master and transactional data across Finance (e.g., Customer, Vendor, Asset, Cost Centers, AP & AR open items).
Deep expertise in data profiling, analysis, migration, reconciliation, and validation, with hands-on experience in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data loading tools.
Demonstrable working knowledge of SAP transactions and reporting, with understanding of data integration across SAP architectures.
Proven experience leading complex data quality/data migration initiatives within large-scale transformation programs.
Ability to lead in a diverse, global team, within and across functions and cultures.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives. Lead and manage negotiations across a complex group, to a target outcome.
Proven track record of delivery and ability to effectively prioritise to ensure goals and outcomes are achieved.
Desirable Skills:
Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industries.
Experience training business users on SAP transactions and process automation.
Proficiency in data migration planning, data mapping, and reporting.
Experience with Syniti Advanced Data Migration (ADM) for data migration and data quality.
